I don't know about other people but "love yourself" is something I see and hear often from people around me. I understand the phrase to an extent. I do feel like loving yourself is important and it should be practiced. However, we all know that some things can be bad, and that we need to have discipline and change in certain areas. For example, some people are ashamed because they weigh a lot and they look different on the outside than others. When it comes to how we look and feel, sometimes we can be blinded and we can get comfortable. I think about obesity and there are many factors that contribute to a persons body weight. However, some people are very overweight and they ultimately choose to eat the wrong foods and not exercise. Obesity and too much of anything can actually be very harmful to a person. So, I feel like "love yourself" is a great thing to do but, we also have to be mindful of the toxic aspects of being comfortable to the point of not changing to better ourselves. This is just my opinion, but I am open and would love to hear different views.
