5 Tips to Staying Internally Beautiful

Updated: Aug 11, 2020

Not only do should we want be beautiful outside but inside as well. In fact I would recommend working on the appearance of your internal beauty more and first. If you have an ugly character but you look beautiful on the outside what is the point, its like a nice looking, juicy, orange or fruit and then when you slice it open there are insects and it tastes bad. No one in their right mind would eat that, and no one if they know what is healthy would associate themselves with someone who is ugly on the inside but pretty on the outside. Here are 5 tips to becoming and staying internally beautiful.

Tip #1: Love God, Yourself and Others!!!

I don't know about you but LOVE is something that makes me feel good, why hate when you can love. Love is a word many people use often to describe things but, in reality LOVE is a strong feeling or emotion used to describe the way we act towards someone or something. People say things like "I love chocolate," "I love this movie," "I love to drink" or "I love my cat." What are really saying is we enjoy drinking, eating chocolate, watching this movie or this cat makes me smile. Love is a strong word. When I use the word LOVE I want it to be true. My favorite example of Love is found in the bible. John 3:16 says "For GOD so loved the world, He gave His Only Begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." In other words God's love for all of humanity is so great that he sacrificed His only son to save us, to redeem us. His LOVE is so GREAT and I am grateful for it everyday. His love for us is the love that we should have for each other as well. We should be willing to love God, ourselves and others daily. It not only is beautiful to LOVE but, its the right thing to do.

Tip #2: Be a Cheerful Giver!!!

We all have heard the saying "giving is better than receiving" but, its true. I feel way better when I give someone something than when someone gives me something. I enjoy and take pleasure in seeing others smile and rejoice. Giving is a blessing to others, yourself and God. God loves when you give but, He loves it more when you are cheerful about it (see Corinthians 9:7). Giving with joy is better than just giving. If you give someone money for example, and you do it smiling and cheerfully, they are happier and more likely to receive it better. Where as, if you give someone money angrily, or with sadness, they may not want to take it or they will feel like you don't really desire to bless them. Why would you want to accept something from someone if you can see its hurting them or they aren't happy about giving it away. Also, giving is not just material, you can give time, love, energy and more. Giving is a beautiful thing and people recognize it and remember it always. Even if you don't have much to give, do it anyway because its beautiful and it makes you more beautiful.

Tip #3: Treat Others the Way You Want to be Treated!!!

It is a beautiful thing to see someone treat another person with kindness, respect, worth and love. Treating the others the way you want to be treated is the golden rule. It is a primary concept that many people grow up hearing and learning because it is so important and makes a huge difference in society. Its simple if you wouldn't want someone behaving that way towards you then why should you do it to them. Treating someone badly is frowned upon by many but also by God. Throughout the bible there are countless places where it talks about loving your neighbour or helping someone in need, God looks at the way you treat others with seriousness. He loves people and expects you to do do the same and to treat them well. Always remember that a large part of beauty is found in the way we treat others. (see 1 John 4:7)

Tip #4: Put God First, Then Others, Then Yourself!!!

Serving others is beautiful, we live in a culture where all we tend to think about is ourselves and there is nothing wrong with that provided that you think of other as well. An attitude of serving is rare in today's culture, to serve is to put someone else's needs before your own. Jesus always had that attitude of serving throughout the bible. He put others needs before His, He came to the world to serve our needs (we needed a saviour, see John 3: 17). We should put God and others before ourselves, not only will we be blessed even more, but it;s the right attitude to have in daily life. I imagine if people had this concept applied in their life consistently, the world would be a better place. Serving does require sacrifice, but serving is a beautiful thing because not many can truly do it and it requires humility which brings honour. Be someone who serves and see how you bless others and how you are blessed more than ever!

Tip #5: Be Yourself!!!

Be yourself, don't try and be someone you aren't. The truth is people who don't know or feel uncertain of their identity do this a lot. Not only does it become tiresome, but it isn't real. No one appreciates fake people, they don't make any good contributions to society or life. Real, raw, true you is BEAUTIFUL. I remember growing up and not being sure of who I was, I wanted people to like me so I did whatever was trending, not only did this affect my mental health but also my physical one. In the end I fell into a pit of negativity thinking that no one liked me and that I wasn't wanted. I realize now that those were lies from satan, I also realized that if I continued to believe and act like someone I wasn't I would be dissatisfied with relationships my whole life. When I finally decided to be myself I realized that people liked me the way I was and that I liked me the way I was. God showed me my identity and that's who I am, I am not fake anymore. Being yourself is not just beautiful, but its also healthy, worthwhile, true and the truth is no one can be a better you!
